Aesthetic Services - Permanent Makeup / Micropigmentation, Facial Peels

Aesthetic services include Micropigmentation and Facial Peels.

Micropigmentation

Micropigmentation, also known as cosmetic tattooing or permanent makeup, is the selective implantation of surgical-grade pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. It mimics eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, lipliner, lipstick and even the individual hairs of the eyelashes, eyebrows and scalp. Micropigmentation is used to shape eyebrows, add fullness to eyelashes and fill in hair loss due to alopecia. It is also used to re-pigment areas that have experienced discoloration due to aging, disease, or injury such as nipple/areola and scars.

Micropigmentation is convenient and hassle free (imagine getting out of bed and always looking refreshed or coming out of the pool without having your makeup smear). Each procedure takes about an hour and topical anesthesia is used prior to the procedure, which makes the procedure virtually painless. The highest quality of surgical grade pigments are used as well as new micropigmentation utensils with every patient. Proper sterile measures are always followed and procedures are done in our medical treatment rooms.

Areas of Focus:
  • Lips
  • Eyeliner (Perfectly placed between each eyelash to give a much fuller and more youthful look)
  • Eyebrows (Air stroke technique - looks like hair)
  • Scar Tissue
  • Nipple / Areola

Facial Peels

We offer two types of peel, European Facial Express and Superficial to Medium.

European Facial Express Peel
A painless, fifteen minute, three step procedure that leaves your skin looking and feeling younger and healthier. Includes, "Dermaplaning", a controlled, physical exfoliation. Dermaplaning removes the top layers of dead, dull skin cells, uncovering much prettier skin. The patients are advised to have a treatment every two weeks in the beginning..... for 3-6 visits, then once a month to maintain the results. This is accomplished without any redness or irritation and make-up can be applied immediately after the treatment.

Superficial to Medium Peels
These peels require about a week of downtime. The solution is applied and this chemical exfoliation is great for improving the appearance of fine lines and brown spots.

Aesthetic improvements can be achieved with her technique that traditional plastic surgery can't always achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a Permanent Makeup technician?
Ask for a consultation first. Look at the technician's Permanent Makeup. How does it look? Ask for references from previous clients and ask to see a portfolio. It is important to have the technician demonstrate with topical makeup how the Permanent Makeup will look. If they cannot draw on the topical makeup, then they probably can't do it with permanent either.

If the makeup is permanent, why do I need a retouch?
In order to keep Permanent Makeup looking natural, lighter blended colors are used. The lighter the pigment the faster it will fade. Eyeliner and lip color have the longest longevity, approximately 7 to 10 years. Eyebrows will not need a touch up for 2 to 4 years on fair skin or 4 to 7 years on darker skin. Some of the variables that affect longevity include depth of pigment, color selected, skin type and proper post care. Permanent Makeup is not treated like body art.

What is the difference between the Manual Method and the Machine Method?
The manual method or Permanent Makeup application is performed without the machinery and the technician provides power behind the pen. It is similar to pen and ink application. There are many different kinds of machines on the market, from traditional tattoo guns to the newer, lighter weight machines. Both techniques, if performed properly, deposit pigment into the dermis layer of the skin and each has benefits and limitations. Discuss both options with your technician.

What if I change my hair color or decide I want my lips a different color?
Since Permanent Makeup is designed to act as an enhancement to your natural features, wearing topical makeup is an option. But isn't it nice to know it is a choice rather than a necessity? Colors for Permanent Makeup are selected to harmonize with your natural skin tones rather than your current hair color. No matter what color your hair is, your Permanent Makeup will always look natural.

Does it hurt?
The sensation can be compared to tweezing. A topical anesthetic is used for eye and brow applications. A dental block is recommended for lip color procedures. However, with the new PUREBEAU™ machine, Permanent Makeup is virtually painless.

How does the application of Permanent Makeup affect future plastic surgery?
Properly placed Permanent Makeup has no effect on plastic surgery, however the key is that Permanent Makeup needs to be properly placed!
